Pylones' Flashlight Projects Constellations for Each Day and Hour of the Month

So, we're heading out to the White Mountains of New Hampshire this weekend to do some hiking and camping. We're beyond excited about camping, but one of the things we're really looking forward to is being away from all of Brooklyn's light pollution and getting to gaze out at all the millions of stars.

We're not ones to know our constellations, which is why this little guy caught our attention at the New York International Gift Fair yesterday...

Designed by Pylones, the Starlight is a flashlight that beams constellations onto any dark surface. You simply pick the month, day, and time and it projects the appropriate constellation locations so you can easily find them above you. The beacon is $50, so it's only for those really into astronomy. We'd pick it up if you could switch between it being a constellation projector and a real flashlight. When we're camping our imaginations get the best of us and a flashlight is a good way of squashing paranoia.
