Q: My boyfriend and I are moving into a small one bedroom in New York. This will be our first apartment together, and I really want to make it work. (The picture of the living room below is the apartment we're going to be moving into, but that is not our stuff).
My boyfriend is a computer scientist and dreams of mounting three or four monitors together at his desk. I had to forbid him from doing so in my apartment now, but I really want to compromise with him in our new apartment. But I haven't been able to figure out how to organize the room so the massive wall of monitors won't be an eyesore or ugly focal point:
We would like the "office" to go in the living room, so there's some separation between sleep and work. I have a desk too, and sometimes work from home.
How can I organize my living room so my boyfriend can have the wall of computers he's always dreamed of and I can still have a charming space?
