Design: Quandry Table
Materials: White Oak and 3/4" thick glass top
Designer: John Berg
"The Quandry table was designed for a specific client who wanted a timeless design that would work well in a living room interior featuring a mix of modern and traditional elements. By inverting two of the four table legs the table construction was designed to be sculptural but also take on Escher like qualities of movement as ones eye traces the lines of the frame."
VOTING IS NOW CLOSED ON THIS ENTRY

"With the clients permission the table has now been produced, 4 times; twice in walnut and twice in white oak. The table was made in Western MA and the glass comes from Brooklyn. In the interest of making the table more affordable I would like to have it produced in quantity and to use reclaimed wood but have not yet found the right outlet."

I really like that! Very nice!
The table is just absolutely breathtaking.
Beautiful design that can be visualized in all sorts of media like high gloss metal, car paint finishes, wood stains in all shades, the sky is the limit.
I havent' seen this exact table base before, but I'm certain I've seen something awfully similar...
there is nothing new under the sun...just a re-purposing of the familiar into a new perspective and new materials. I really like this table and the Escher quality of it.
Lovely! Is this available for sale?
I love the concept.
My only reservation is that it seemed clunky - like it was put together with 2X4s. I like it, though, and would want to see it with different woods or different finishes.
If you have small children, it is an accident waiting to happen

There - Fixed it for ya
;-)
No kids, so you can send it to me right away -- no problem! ;^)
I think the chunkiness of the legs is what makes it sculptural. I love it a lot!
With somewhat different proportions, I could see a similar frame used to make a console table or a dining table, too. Gorgeous!
I love the glass top, I could stare at this for hours.
Being a house that has children (and young ones at that) I could never see it in my own and would secretly envy anyone who could have it without risk of injury. Very nice!
Not all of us have kids to worry about! - this table is beautiful in its simplicity, I would love to have!
The table is simple, yet interesting in that it attracts the eye as an artful piece should.
I'll trade in the coffee table I just made for yours. Very fly!
I want one!!!!
awesome
beautiful organic design. strong, yet loose. solid but airey. DWR better get their license proposal in fast!
Just gorgeous
I feel like I've seen something similar, too. The only thing I DON'T like is that you can see where the legs are attached to each other (with splines?) from the top. It would be more elegant if these were not visible.
Beautiful table!, Contemporary but timeless. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Quite possibly the most interesting coffee table I've ever seen.
What a brilliant design.
this table would go perfectly in our new home! modern, beautiful, solid design. where can i order one?
I want this table.
gorgeous design!
Strong and silent, like I like my men.
Beautiful design! Certain to become a classic in homes all around the world. Love the reclaimed wood idea.
My dream table!
Amazing, all these comments about this table & children. Isn't that what bumpers are for?
Love love love it!
