Questions: A Heavy Duty Vacuum?

Questions: A Heavy Duty Vacuum?

Jennifer sent us this desperate plea: I am desperately in need of a good heavy duty vacuum cleaner to get ready for my 4 month old daughter as I want the carpet to be somewhat decent when she starts crawling. What's the next best thing besides Dyson? Any help from your readers will be helpful.

Thanks Jennifer. Great question, and one we're always looking into ourselves. The top of the line vacuums are pretty pricey, but there has to be something reasonably priced that works well.

If you're avoiding the Dyson solely due to cost, this first suggestion won't help you. The Miele is a well known front-runner along with the Dyson. The S4 Galaxy Series has a H.E.P.A. filtration system. Read more about the Miele in this AT NYC post.

For a more affordable choice, we've been eyeing the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum. It seems to have everything we're looking for: it's bagless, has a H.E.P.A. filtration system, and an ergonomic design.
