I'm always on the hunt for small ways you can quickly improve the look of a home. Mainly because on the weekends, as much as I love working on my home, when the weather's nice I'd rather be outside than fiddling with my decor! But improving one's home is an evolving task. This weekend, consider evaluating your curtain rods to see if they can improve the look of a room.
One of my favorite posts about this subject is this one: Small Tricks, Big Difference for an Evolving Home. It just illustrates so clearly how adjusting curtain rods —in this case, making them longer and more prominent — adds so much to the entire room, making it look more sophisticated.

So today, take a tour around your space and look up. Could your curtain rods be expanded to take up a little more space and add a little more drama? Did you try something out that didn't quite work and could fix it? Could your drapes hang longer, or will tucking them a little higher change the feel of a space?
Check out the health of your curtains, too. Are they old and need to be cleaned or mended? Could you really use some black out curtains in your bedroom or to protect your furniture and home from the sun's heat and damaging rays?
And while you're at, do your blinds or window need to be cleaned?
