In one of the smartest moments of parenthood party planning history, this kid-sized snack table was created. What? It's just a board on an ottoman? Oh, well it's far more than that!
Carly Taylor's Unicorn themed birthday party was recently featured over at Hostess With The Mostess and although the decor is fabulous (there were even take home unicorn horns for everyone!), what really caught our attention was this handy table.
We love it for 3 reasons. The first is that it puts the snacks at kid height so they're not tipping over bowls on tall tables and running the risk of wrecking your beautiful display. The second is that it makes great use of the household ottoman instead of just being a diving board onto the couch. The third is that since these bowls are actually glued down to the surface, it makes snacking on the go a no-go. No mess, no fuss, just one brilliant idea!

When I first saw the picture I thought it was a HORRIBLE idea because the bowls would be tipping all over and getting food on the carpet. But after reading it (that'll teach me to form opinions before reading the whole post), I think it's fantastic. The bowls are glued down? Genius! I'm going to throw a party just so I can try it. :)
OH, and I assume the ribbons are glued onto the board (underneath) and tied around the bottom of the ottoman to keep the board from moving. This just keeps getting more and more awesome.
This is great but my first thought was that these people must not have a dog. My dog would have all that eaten in minutes.
...so I just randomly came across this today - so strange seeing my ottoman on ohdeedoh... never thought I'd say THAT. Thanks for sharing this! It was a big hit/success. The whole thing cost me about 5 dollars and the toddlers were in HEAVEN. :)
