You spoke, and we heard — you want more quick task assignments to complete over the weekend to make your life easier and your home more beautiful. With the January Cure in high gear, you're no doubt set on housekeeping tasks for the next month. A non-cleaning option that's left is an unsexy one, but one that can really make your life flow smoothly. And hey — it's a break from cleaning your floors!
First: Update your insurance photos and inventory after the holidays in case any presents you received added to your collection of valuables. Or, if you're anything like me, finally actually document your inventory since you never really did it when you got the insurance policies in the first place (this will probably not be as quick as just updating your inventory). You can create simple spreadsheets, or you can get high-tech and use an app to keep track.
Bonus: As you're running around documenting your tech goodies, jewelry and other valuables, take note about where you store these items and whether there's a smarter, safer (more organized) choice. And should you run across any tech manuals/warranties, gather them for filing in one central place (and think about actually filling out and sending in any of those warranties if there's still time!)
Don't have renter's insurance? Reconsider. Investigate the benefits of Renter's Insurance and Personal Articles Insurance if you don't have either yet. It is possible to find affordable policies to protect your stuff in case of emergency. It might not be a good fit for your lifestyle, but it's worth looking into.
