Tonal, Not Total Changes
Keep your bedroom in sync with the season by introducing some fall tones. Slipcovers and duvet covers instantly give a room a new look without having to commit to a major revamp. The Simply Shabby Chic Cotton Duck Loveseat Slipcover ($94.49) gives a quick color update to your bedroom sofa by bringing in some autumnal browns and greens. Match and modernize with the Thomas O'Brien Pinstripe Duvet Cover Set ($99.99-$119.99) in taupe for a coordinated color refresh.

Get Texture
Introducing textural accessories is a great way to change the feel (literally!) of a space. For fall, get inspired by sweater weather and find pieces featuring cozy cable-knits. Or go shabby chic by adding decorative pillows with rich textural accents, like the Simply Shabby Chic Pinwheel Pillow ($24.99). A little texture goes a long way, even in a larger space, so it's an efficient way to change a bedroom's feel with just a few new pieces.

Nestle In
Think about how you use your bedroom as the seasons change. We know we'll be tempted to cuddle up in bed just a wee bit longer as the sun starts to fade and the thermostat drops. Make it worth your while by adding practical accessories like a portable bed tray--the perfect vehicle for warm cinnamon buns and spiced apple cider.

Brighten Up Darker Days
Just because the colors and light are fading outside doesn't mean your bedroom can't stay on the bright side. Consider adding an extra light source if you're normally more dependent on natural light from outside. Target's new Yellow CA Amber Lamp Base ($49.99) is a good find--not only will its warm hue add a dash of Autumn to your space now, but it is versatile enough to coordinate with seasonal bedroom color updates throughout the rest of year too.

Throw In Some Pattern
Tweed is a perfect pattern for fall and this Home Tweed Throw ($29.39) does double-duty by bringing in fall tones while also bringing comfort on cool nights. It can be matched alongside fall slipcovers and duvet covers, or make a bold autumnal statement when paired alongside more neutral colorways.

I hate it that I fall for these advertisement "posts."
I've been eyeing that checkered throw from the first picture for weeks now. I'm just going to have to get it.
Loladanger, LOL!
I totally understand. Just last night I had to peel my fingers off a bedding set in gorgeous dark chartreuse colour. What actually helped me was the knowledge that I had bought the same brand before (I think it was Cynthia Rowley or something like that) and although the colour was exquisitely vibrant the quality of the material was somewhat lacking and it showed after a few washes.
Plus, how many sets of bed linens does one need? I already have a few so I need to remind myself that every time I see something really nice.
Target's website is so poor I can't be bothered to look there for anything.
I agree with repressd, Target's website is abysmal.
That being said, I don't do the whole seasonal decor thing. Texas has two seasons, hot and cold. I change my bed linens to heavier stuff in winter (ie, when the overnight low finally drops to 60 degrees or less), and lighter stuff for the rest of the year. Keeping around a bunch of seasonal themed stuff seems overly fussy to me, not to mention a complete waste of space.
Ironically, I did MORE seasonal changes when I lived in Houston than I do now in Minnesota! I grew up with seasons in Ohio, and missed them terribly during my time in Texas. So I changed things like bedspreads and sofa pillows, and rotated chatchkes of various kinds. I even filled the rooms with snowman and snow scene items during "winter" since for darned sure the 2 days that were below 50 degrees were NOT winter enough for me.
Of course now that I'm in the actual North....I'm remembering I should have been more careful what I wished for. No need to decorate with snow scenes now!
