The first big rains of the season started to dampen my spirits and as I stared at my thoroughly soaked umbrella in a puddle on my hardwood floors, inspiration arrived. I decided to find a splendid umbrella stand to lift me out of my early winter blues! See 10 great picks after the jump!

5. Repurpose a Vase! (I think I might do this with this Z Gallerie Owl Vase.)

I like the 2nd one by Elic, but $150 for a unbrella stand? I will go for the DIY ones.
An umbrella stand with a sponge?!
What's that, to keep the floor wet longer?
I love that pic of the suspended brollies...where is it and was it an art piece?
OOOooops. Just put my glasses on and see the type that the suspended brollies are in Spain. Never mind :-)
I love that umbrella picture. Have loved it ever since I first saw it about a year ago. It's so cheerful!
I have the z gallerie owl vase and I don't think it would hold up to umbrellas getting tossed into it.
Awesome Blog post Alisha! I want to start making my own 'brelli stand right now. :)
The umbrella picture is from Alicante (Spain). That was part of the City Art Exhibition the Townhall organizes every year. A topic is chosen, and artists have permission to place their artwork in the streets for everyone to enjoy.
I have lived in Alicante for the last 2 years, and I remember seeing the "umbrella street". It was fantastic!
