As excited as I get over seeing the before and after of one project, I almost blew a gasket when I came across an entire house full of projects! Seeing how the owners changed every room in their house is an inspiration…

Jennifer and her husband, HandyMan, have documented their projects on their blog,
Rambling Renovators. HandyMan is an intern architect — that must be nice to have around when trying to overhaul a 1950s house — and Jennifer is a self-described HGTV addict. Together they have modernized a dowdy old house and kept photo documentation along the way.

It's absolutely incredible to see the transformation that the Rambling Renovators have coaxed out of this old house. From room to room, they have consistently brought a great deal of style to each space.

You may remember the bathroom pictured above from an earlier post — Before & After: The Monet Mural Bathroom.
Check out the rooms pictured here, plus a few more, on the couple's blog — Rambling Renovators.

White Enamel Flatwa...
beautiful! love what you have done with the place.
Paneling that wall in the bedroom to disguise the weird part that stuck out was really smart.
LOVE

We're the midst of a long, slow cheap renovation of a dumpy 50s house, this is absolutely beautiful and inspiring!
Yeah, love the first bedroom. I agree that it had nowhere to go but up, but you really did take it up!
And nobody make fun of me but I like the before bathroom. I like the after bathroom too, but I think if it were my home it wouldn't have occurred to me to change the bathroom off the bat.
Love these rooms. They're going into my inspiration folder!
I agree with Elisha. I do prefer the before bathroom as well. It IS different but it gave the bathroom a more romantic feel I think.
I love the after bedroom, but I prefer the before bathroom myself as well. I think the nural was rather interesting. Since the shower already had glass walls, it looked airy enough. JMHO.
I looked at the bathroom again and I realized that the before obviously had carpeted floor. Ok, that I would have definitely replaced by something white-ish and more suitable/practical.
I thought maybe I was crazy for loving the Monet bathroom, but I'm glad to see from the comments that I'm not alone!
All of these makeovers are amazing. I especially love the lamps above the bedside tables.
Would Be great to see where the bed for the child ended up, as this is a struggle in bedroom layout work. Comfy but practical is the issue
The second bathroom could use a little more color.
Nicely done! Great taste!
They took the heat out of the bath? YIKES!
I am a huge fan of Jennifer and her blog! It's fun seeing her here!

Love Rambling Renovators.
All those transformations are beautiful! And although I love the new bathroom, I'm happy to see others liking the old bathroom as well. I'm sure living in it is different, but it's pretty fun and quirky from the picture.
The office space is AWESOME. Love the countertop material and all that storage!
Definitely one of my favorite blogs! It's worth the visit to see the rest of their home. And personally, I think the after bathroom is WAY better!
I would have loved the old bathroom in my former design life. In this incarnation (mid century + primitive + frankenfurniture), I really like the second bathroom. It could use a touch of color.
No 1950's house should be called dumpy until one has looked at the original vision. It might be better to restore than to modernize. In this case, some "modernizing" had to be fixed but it may be good to go back to an Eichler or "atomic ranch" look. Houses from the 1950's are often terrific.
medusa12120 had me laughing for a good ten minutes!
These are all great "afters" with the exception of the bathroom, IMO. I much prefer the "before" bathroom (minus the icky carpet) over the yawn-inducing "after" bath. At least the "before" bathroom had personality!
Yeah, I think it's mostly the sink that I prefer in the before bathroom. Don't care for the after one, but the floor is lovely and while I didn't mind the Monet-esque mural, I could see how it could start to feel cheesy.
The bedroom is really well done, and I like the patterned curtains.
lovely!
Yikes on the before bathroom. I'm shocked people on here like it so much. Great after pics of all the rooms. I'll have to check out this blog.
@ papermoon75: lol yeah it's the "slow" and "cheap" that really takes the fizz out of renovating. i'm in your boat.
Great work, and thank you for all the before/after shots from the same angle!
Beautiful! I love Jennifer's style and blog ;) She's fabulous. Sooooo excited to see her lovely home featured on your site!
