For Netflix subscribers a fast and reliable internet connection can mean the difference between sitting back and enjoying a movie or scowling and watching the digital version of a pixelated flipbook. Netflix has been regularly compiling data about ISP streaming speeds and sharing it on their site for users to check where their speeds rank, including data for subscribers in Mexico and those in European countries like the UK, Ireland, Sweden and Denmark...
Globally, those blessed with a Google Fiber connection top the speed list. But it's Finland which wins the best marks for average speed per user, with Sweden just a hair behind. Click on the graph above to dig dipper into individual country ratings.
4G-based Clearwire and DSL providers rate the lowest amongst major ISP providers in average speed, with fiber and top-tier cable connections from Google , CableVision, and Cox (note, the 5 place jump upward) topping the charts. My current ISP, Time Warner Cable, currently ranks in the middle of the pack; even then, most streaming experiences have been satisfactory via Netflix (I can't say the same for AppleTV, where blame likely lands on Apple's shoulders, not TWC).
