We'd venture to say that red is one of the most popular colors in interiors. No matter how much or how little you have of it, most everyone has something red in their home. It's a refreshing and extremely easy way to add a little kick in a room.
We'd sign up for anything involving a fantastic red tool case, especially a bedroom. It's such a unique and quirky way to add personality and a pop of color! Of course that's a subdued way of incorporating red into a space, we understand not everyone is dreaming of an all red living room (even though it certainly is great to look at!).
If you prefer the subtle approach (we don't blame you), just a few touches of red will do wonders. Red lamps, vintage jewelry boxes, artwork and side chairs are interesting ways to achieve that perfect pop of color.

White Enamel Flatwa...
That first picture's not a pop of color, it's a GWAR show.
ugh! the first photo feels like I jumped on the Magic School Bus - cardiovascular system episode.
@lupinelle HAHAHAHAHA!!! :D
I don't think I've ever seen a tool cabinet in a bedroom, much less used as a pop of color.
Also, I'm sure the first room is great to look at...if you are trying to give yourself a headache so you can go home early. OUCH.
yes, dress down the entire room, so one object sticks out.
Additionally, if I never hear the phrase "pop of color" again, it'll be too soon. How about "touches of color," "splashes of color," "dashes of color," or even, going way out on a limb here, something crazy like "brightly-hued decorative accents."
I see that first picture and all I can think of is....Redrum!
Uh, yeah, that first room isn't a "little kick", unless you think Mr Everest is a "little hill".
Ouch.
its like that episode of dexter when the ice truck killer dumps his collection of blood in the hotel room!!
That first pic is looks like it escaped from that Human League video for Fascination (Keep Feeling).
Oops, (Keep Feeling) Fascination.
I find #2 strangely disturbing. I think it's the portrait + craftsman cabinet.
My mother (who is now in her 80s) has always believed that every room needs some red. So growing up there were oddly placed red things in most rooms. Most notable was the small, red, bath rug underneath the piano bench in a room otherwise devoid of red. In my own home I have no red things at all. Maybe it's my rebellion.
@lupinelle - AMEN!
Besides "pop of color," I'd also like the related trite phrase "it's really going to make it pop" stricken.
Voting for doing away with POP. Room #1 is the devil's own home. Never wanna go there.
That first one - no, just no!
My mother also subscribed to "every room needs a touch of red". But when I think back to the rooms I grew up in, I don't remember the red in most rooms so it must have been very subtle.
Can someone tell me where the painting in picture 4 is from?
I like red...use a lot of it, but it feels like my eyes are bleeding looking at that first photo.
