Last night [Thursday] Sara and I went to a book launch for the Spanish chef, Ferran Adrià, of El Bulli. While Sara met her hero, Alice Waters, I introduced myself to Thomas Keller and thanked him for inspiring me. His restaurant in Napa is combination or country house, restaurant and garden, which combines philosophy, environment and food in a way that I dream of...

This morning, I had breakfast with Colin Beavan, of No Impact Man fame. What he is doing, taking his NYC existence and turning it into a green, sustainable, environmental life to help save the planet is no less inspiring and potentially more difficult. We discussed how blogs help get the message out and how they can become more interactive and less passive.

Meeting good people and sharing ideas are nourishing. Doing something you believe in is nourishing.

All of it puts gas in our spiritual car, especially when real gas is low.
