Name: Amy M.
Location: Isla Holbox, Mexico
Link: Mawibi on the Beach
Description: Isla Holbox is 3hrs from Cancun Airpot, yet you feel completely transported. There are no cars on the island, only golf buggies but most people just walk bearfoot on the sand roads. We spent most of the time in hammocks but renting a buggy for a day was worth it...

You'll be inspired by all the colors in the local homes and will be able to picnic on quiet beaches. The water is not as clear and turquoise as Tulum but the vibe is a real holiday away from it all.

Many of the homes had religious ornaments, some had many details, I could get them all because it started to pour. If you're looking to go, you should plan the trip when the whale sharks are migrating, they're stunning creatures and will provide much inspiration. Mawimbi will arrange your transport from the airport, they're good people.
