We're kick starting Reader Escapes by sharing our own personal favourite vacation memories from Paris (technically this escape didn't happen in summer, but hey, it's Paris and our only vacation escape in recent memory)...
Name: Gregory & Emily
Location: Paris, France
Link: A l'Etoile d'Or (my favourite stop in all of Paris)
Description: Our last real vacation was a whirlwind tour of Paris during the colder months when the streets are mostly empty of tourists, but still filled with a charm that is uniquely Parisian. Emily had been there several times, but it was my first time to Europe and I was rewarded with a fleeting dalliance with a city whose heart and soul sang in tune with my own...
It is often said that Paris is the most romantic city in the world, but I'd disagree. Paris is a jealous lover...one who required my complete attention. I couldn't take my eyes off any of her avenues, each building sang an architectural reverie, a parade of stylish citizens impressed with their polite manners, and of course, a dreamland of tasty delights was there to feed my deepest gastronomic desires.
Now if I can only get back during the summer months when long underwear and scarves aren't required...
