Yesterday's post — The Endlessly Adaptable IKEA Rast Dresser — yielded a number of reader comments about their own Rast hacks. We love seeing what our readers are are doing out there…
• Barbara, from Hodge Podge, pointed out that we failed to include her Rast in yesterday's roundup. With black paint on the body of the Rast and silver leaf paint on the drawer fronts, Barbara created an affordable but high style piece for her teen daughter's bedroom.
• Reader Sarah Rodgers included a link to her flickr page in her comment. It was there that we found her colorful Rast hack. Sarah painted the bodies of the dressers a colorful blue and used fabric to cover the drawer fronts. She then stacked two Rasts to create more storage.
• Lindsay, from Aubrey + Lindsay's Blog, brought our attention to her Rast project. Lindsay chose a dark stained body and white drawer fronts and completed the look with round brass drawer pulls.
• Faith directed us to her blog, Double Mommy, where she posted about her Rast hack. Faith stained the dressers in two tones — darker on the body, lighter on the drawer fronts — and pushed two side-by-side to create one larger piece.
• Great minds really do think alike. Shelli, from A La Mode Maven, also showed off her dark stained and white Rast hack, completed with round brass drawer pulls.

Thanks for featuring ours. Just a side note - My name is Lindsay (my husband is Aubrey). Not that it matters, other than you're giving him credit for the 1 project in the house he had nothing to do with. (everything else he deserves credit for)
d'oh! thanks for the correction. the post has been updated.
I really like Faith's....but these are all great!
my name is Sara :) but OMG! thank you for featuring my dressers! they make me so happy everytime I see them!
Awesomesauce. :) The update is very much appreciated. Can't let that man of mine get too much credit. ;)
I've always loved Aubrey and Lindsay's bedroom makeover complete w/ Ikea Rast! Sooooo excited to see their project celebrated here :)
OK, I'm now convinced I have no imagination! If you'd have described to me 'dark stained wood with white painted drawers' I'd have thought nope, won't like it.
I would have been SO VERY wrong! Aubrey/Lindsay and Shelli's hacks (paint treatments) are just gorgeous!
two more that i love (neither is mine): http://pinterest.com/pin/104117850/ and http://pinterest.com/pin/117256484/
Wow, thanks for featuring my silver leaf Rast hack! Awesome!
I love turning boring ikea furniture into exciting custom pieces. I customized my billy bookcase with decorative paper from PaperSource and would love to do the same with this as a nightstand. Thanks for the ideas!
Just realized that Barbara from Hodge Podge did the silver leaf Rast. Don't know how I missed that. Gorgeous Barbara!!!
Aubrey and Lindsay's bedroom is gorgeous!! Love it!
Thanks for posting more of these! I don't have a Rast, but I do have a small, plain three drawer I got off a curb a few years ago. I use it to store art supplies, but now it's in my 'dining room' and needs some dressing up. Lots of good ideas here!
I love Barbara's dresser. I will have to try using silver leaf soon. I also tried my hand at a Rast hack. You can check it out here.

Hope you like it.
I like number four, but I would have used iron handles since the black and wood gives it a bit of an industrial look.
Great inspiration!!
How smoothly do the drawers slide on this? I don't have an Ikea nearby to check it out... would hate to plan a trip over and find it really sticky to open.
This dresser is the perfect size to fit a small space we've been trying to fill for a while!
@lesova they work fantastically for me - I have had some dastardly dressers that stick and these definitely are great
These are all fantastic! Great work out there.
thanks 'sarakenobi'.... I think this is my next project! I'll be sure to send it in to AT :)
