Welcome to Jared!
High school art classes were a little different in 1940s Iran. That's where my father in law made this little carpet. It was his first attempt, and he is apologetic about its crookedness, but I think it is one of the best things my wife and I have stolen from him yet. Jared

Your father has nothing to apologize for. It's been hung as it deserves...a beautiful work of art. I'm extremely jealous. Thanks for sharing.
Reminds me of a magic carpet - and to be made by someone you love, how utterly grand.
This photo, actually, with its plant shadows, the pink earthiness of the rug and the leather - all natural against the wood floor is, a piece of art also - much enjoyed by me. thank you.
Fantastic!
What is the paint color on your walls? It's really beautiful, especially with your floor.
A stunning piece of art in a space with a fine balance of colour, texture, and natural elements.
I agree with Jackie.. tis photo, unto itself, is another charming work of art!
I love it. How lucky you are to have something both beautiful and personal.
He gets an "A"!!
In my opinion every great piece of art comes with its own unique story.
Where did you find such great chairs?
Love the rug; love the chairs.
That's so sweet. What a wonderful thing to do.
Absolutely wonderful, beautiful presentation. Both you and your dad have something to be proud of (and I'm referring to each other as well as the rug).
Your story was so touching it made me tear up a little. Thanks for sharing. The story, rug and room are beautiful.
This one photo conveys a grand room by playing with scale. I can't tell if those are mini chairs or a massive base moulding!
Great wall color, chairs. It is so nice to hang art that has meaning, even better when you know whose hands have made it!
i think it's very sweet. things don't need to be perfect. also, the chairs are beautiful.
Thanks for all the kind words. The pair of chairs are a garage sale find, the baseboard is pretty big, and the wall is a sage-ish color. And our poor little corn plant tree - it once had friends that didn't survive the sporadic watering.
I showed my father in law the site, he is tickled that others consider his little carpet "art."
Art is always good when there are imperfections just like nature. Perfection breeds crazy.
