In response to our post last week on How to Hang Artwork in Clusters (and our follow-up post, Clustered Artwork Revisted), two kind readers sent us photos of their own take on this hanging style. Sarah sent the one above and says "Thought I would send in my attempt at an art wall. A little about it ...

...inspired by the decor8 blog; some of the art is my own - b/w photos; some of the art is purchased - pushmepullyoudesign.com - kiwi & parrot; needlework is my grandmothers; the tiles are mostly from Motawi Tile in Ann Arbor, MI. All of it is art we love!"

Meg of EnderbyNest and EnderbyDesigns sent us this idea board cluster and cute twine "photo line". She says, ""I work and live and entertain in my Brooklyn apartment and have to make the most out of my space. Always needing to be aesthetically inspired, clusters of a myriad of images on my ever-evolving inspiration wall works best for me."
Thanks to Sarah and Meg for sending us your photos as inspiration!

What is the name of the cat picture in the first photo? Or does anyone know who the artist is? Thanks!
I don't know the answer to that, but I immediately wanted to know it as soon as I saw the photo. It looks like it's Chinese perhaps, judging by the black and red kanji (?) and chop (?) at the cat's lower left.
beautiful! I love clustered frames. having picture rails in our place, though, i can't justify putting nails in the wall. i wonder if there's a tasteful way to cluster frames from a rail so that the twine/cords don't look all crazy?
You could try using fisherman's line (very strong) if it comes in an "invisible" type.
Sorry, I tried to find out more information on the cat print, but no luck. Mom wasn't sure where it came from - we believe it to be my grandmothers. I will keep looking! If I find anything, I will post it here.
:)
