Welcome to Kelly!

I don't know if what we did to our bathroom would appeal to everyone, but we really like unique design elements and incorporated many into our bathroom. We live in an old place which is restored but still quite "period" and this little room was a former dressing room...

We did not want to make the bathroom too modern, so we used earthy colors with oil rubbed bronze and copper fixtures.

My two favorite elements are the counter top for the vessel sink and the mosaic tile floor in the shower. The shower mosaic was handmade in Lebanon purchased from, and cost only a little over $500 including shipping. The countertop under the vessel sink was custom made by me and my husband! Really! And we are SO not artistic by any means so believe me when I say it was easy.

We simply had our contractor measure out a piece of wood and I got bags and bags of scraps of stained glass and, like a puzzle, we glued it on, grouted it, and volia! Custom counter top! It was indeed time consuming, but I think adds a lot to our bathroom and certainly more than the standard white ceramic top that came with the sink base would have.

I can certainly take and send better pictures if you need them. These were taken right after construction, and we have accessorized the bathroom since then.
