Welcome to Tyson and Angie!

Here are some pics of our apartment bedroom in Montreal, Canada. Our names are Tyson, Angie and Spidy (the dog, ahem). Our tips are:
1) Live in a city where people throw away amazing things
2) Learn to sew or befriend someone who does
3) Save money on bedroom accessories (dollar store boxes, thrift stores), spend money on art...

Here are the sources of where we got most of our bedroom items, since I know the very thorough AT community will probably ask! ;)

Headboard: Old chinese screens we found in a dumpster behind a chinese buffet that shut down across the street. Tyson literally had to jump IN the dumpster to get them. I watched. In all we pulled out about 20 of them and distributed them amongst friends.

Bedding: I sewed it out of vintage fabric

Drapes: Again, vintage fabric. Although this particular fabric was intended to be used as mattress ticking in the 50's!

Bed: cheapo futon, the key is to pile up 2 futon mattresses

Bedside tables: This was a major score, we got these two tables, a 6 drawer dresser which is in the living room as a credenza, a giant mirror which is at our store, and a stacked 6 drawer dresser, all for $125!!!

Glass/metal console table: Another thrift store score, $10

Boxes on dresser: Dollarama

Dresser: Malm in Oak from Ikea

Bent ply chair: My old University in Manitoba, Canada was giving them away. Literally.

Lamps on bedside tables: can't really remember, they're a few years old, I think they're from EQ3

Illustrations above bedside tables: Garret Van Winkle

sailor sculpture on bedside table: bought in Zagreb, Croatia

Horse sculpture on other bedside table: Fake jade, thrift score

Horse/dog sculpture above dresser: Jordan Van Sewell

Record player: My mom bought it from my elementary school for $15, unbelievable

Thanks for everything AT, I read the site religiously. Tyson thinks I'm crazy actually.
