Tiffany sent us photos of a friend's home she visited in Belgium. Here's what she had to say:
"Last night we were at our friend's place so I took some photos because it is one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. Being in Belgium, the style here tends to be a mix of vintage French and modern Dutch design. Their home looks to be more French, but they say their taste isn't really one specific style, they just buy what they like, and I think you'll agree it all works together wonderfully."
"There are antique pieces mixed with modern fixtures, dried flowers and a vintage rug next to a plastic Alessi toilet brush."
"Many of the pieces in their home are from the antique market in Brussels (Place du Grand Sablon) and from the many antique shops here in Antwerp. They also LOVE to travel (just returned from South Africa, leaving for Egypt in 10 days...) so they have collected quite a few lovely things from literally around the globe.
While their place looks amazing, and quite expensive, I think people would be shocked to hear the prices they paid for some of the most gorgeous pieces. Shopping at local markets has allowed them to create a beautiful, unique home without spending an arm and a leg. I think it goes to show that if you have a good eye, and good taste, you can decorate your space beautifully without going to the most upscale stores and paying premium prices.
I love their apartment, it's truly inspiring. Hope you like it!"
Such a treat! Thanks to Tiffany, Ann and Alain for the tour.
