I think one thing that's universally true is that all parents want their child to love reading. And it's also true that kids can read pretty much anywhere - in the car, on the couch, or at the kitchen table. But like the much-loved fort or tent, a cozy nook set up specifically for reading can help make it a fun activity for your child.
And it doesn't have to be difficult - a few comfortable floor cushions, a big squishy bean bag chair, or a teepee are all easy ways to instantly create a fun space for fairy tales, adventure stories, and novels. Above are fifteen fabulous reading nooks in all sizes, shapes, and styles to help inspire you.

I would have LOVED one of these when I was younger! In fact, I still want one now!
8 is my favourite, but how did she get up there? I don't see a ladder.
What a perfectly wonderful idea! I want one!
I drew one of these in my journal. One day it'll come to fruition. It's a perfect place to bond with your kids. Twelve is my favorite.
I would have loved one of these and will file away for when I have kidlets.
@sherrme I wouldn't be at all surprised if she used the shelves as a ladder. My brother and I used to do that all the time. The top shelf of the linen closet is the best spot for Hide & Seek!
Although I have a room, I still want a nook!
I made myself something like #3 when I was a kid/teen. To this day when I sit down or stretch out to read, I think fondly about my little corner with pillows and stuffed animals. It was the best reading corner ever!
These are fantastic!
Great nooks........ lucky kids!
Everyone deserves a nook of one's own. :)
LOVE the idea of creating a kid's reading nook. What a great way to encourage them to curl up and learn to love reading.
I'm looking forward to creating one for my 9 year-old and 10 year-old
