Heading back to school makes this a perfect time to look at the Read-Nest by Danish design firm Dorte Mandrup Architecture. The structure is a 10-meter-square pavilion prefabricated for studying in the landscape:
The pavilion is completely prefab and hauled to its site on a flatbed truck. Once in place, there is a fold-down desk and a wall of shelves for all of those books. See more of this wooden jewel box of study at Dorte Mandrup Architecture.

An architect in our community created something like this for he and his wife to sleep in outside the house. She was plagued with major allergies to everything and miserable and sick most of the time so he developed a company around the design offering relief to others. She gradually overcame many of her allergies and can manage to be in the house for much of the time now. They still sleep out there as it's tranquil and closer to nature, closer than she gets to be otherwise.
It'd be a great outdoor bedroom even if reading wasn't the main occupation.
Vesla-- Do you have the name of the architect who made the outside room they use. I have similar allergiees and we've been looking into finding/building some outside space for our house. Thanks!
Cute! I feel like making my home office have this feeling.
(Vesla now that's interesting.)
