Looking at unusual homes can be great fun, especially if you have a desire to live in very different digs. For example, the apartment city-dweller who yearns for acreage or the land-locked thirsting for waterfront views. It's fun to look! Below are just a few examples of some great real estate sites. What is your favorite?
Images, left to right:
1. Seattle Modern: featuring mid-century modern and contemporary modern designs in the Puget Sound region.
2. Historic Properties: Based in Savannah, Georgia, this site features historic homes all over the US and Canada.
3. Old Houses: Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, features historical properties for purchase or for rent.
4. Prime Waterfront: Like the name implies, all homes are waterfront homes in the US and Canada.
5. Unusual Homes For Sale: Based in the UK this site features an unusual assortment of homes for sale, mostly in the UK. It also lists properties in the rest of the world.
6. Special Finds: These listings are a bit harder to define. The site features properties that are hard to find: off-grid homes, one-of-a-kind properties, in the US.
7. E-Islands: This is actually a collaboration of multiple private island real estate sites. Truly worth visiting if only to dream!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Oh wow I am completely infatuated with image #1.
The house in the first picture is great! I live near it and if it wasn't for the bright orange glow from Tacoma at night, the freight trains blasting thier horns just across the water every hour at night, the lound noise of the traffic hitting the expantion plates on the bridges and the 9 months of dreary weather; I'd love to live there. Pictures are worth a 1000 words but there are two worth more than the price of the house, don't bother
