The chair comes in two boxes. Mailing the boxes is cheaper than mailing an assembled chair, a money saver.
How many Apartment Therapy staffers does it take to put together a chair? Apparently only two. We received a tester Felix Chair at our NY office from Homeware. They promised that it was extremely easy to assemble and even went so far as to call it "simple." Not ones to say no to a challenge, Jen and Ashley put this chair assembly to the test. While it was definitely easy enough to do alone, what's better than building furniture with a friend? Here's how...
The chair came in 2 boxes and 13 pieces:
- 2 Arms
- Seat Frame
- Seat Cushion
- 4 Legs
- 4 Bolts
The instructions are really easy to follow:
Step 1: Lay the back onto the floor and attach the arms. Each arm has two small knobs that slide snugly into grooves on the back.
Step 2: Insert the seat frame into the opening on the back.
Step 3: Thread each of the 4 bolts through the seat and into corresponding holes on the arms. The bolts tighten easily by hand.
Step 4: Screw on the legs.
Step 5: Pull the velcro dust cover over the exposed springs on the seat frame. Flip the chair upright, add the seat cushion, and enjoy!
Test Lab Conclusion: We have put together a lot of furniture in our lives and we'd rate the Homeware Felix chair assembly experience as extremely easy. It produced a sturdy result with minimal frustration, and with nary an allen wrench in sight!
