I've been suffering from some mild symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome in last month or so, and I knew part of the problem was how I had set up my laptop in front with an additional LCD monitor on the side. Hunching down while looking at the screen while typing while also turning slightly to my left resulted in an ergonomic strain. The elegant design mimics Apple's aluminum construction, but it isn't all just for looks sake, as the aluminum helps dissipate any heat emanating from the laptop while on the stand (if I wanted to go all out, I guess I could accessorize with their aluminum wrist rest too, but I like my Wacom Bamboo too much).

Also at this height (the mStand increases screen height by 6"), my laptop now is at an improved ergonomic height for extended use. Although, I've decided currently as a precaution to use the larger external monitor as the primary screen, positioning it directly in front of me with a wireless keyboard and keeping the laptop closed, which has just about eliminated any pain previously felt. It's interesting to note how just a few degrees turned this way, a few inches seated up, down or to the side can make all the difference in your health, and the mStand is an aesthetic and practical aid to keep your ergonomic setup in ideal position. No complaints here...just praise for a simple product that has become a welcome part of my home office almost immediately.
