The winners are in! We wrote about the ReBurbia contest last week when they spotlighted the 20 finalists, but now the judges have judged! Check out the winners after the jump...

Dwell and Inhabitat created this contest dedicated to re-invisioning the suburbs, and now they have chosen the winners. The coveted Grand Prize has been given to Calvin Chiu for his visionary plan to turn McMansions into biofilter water treatment plants. Dubbed Frog's Dream, this plan strives to re-create a sustainable link between urban and suburban areas. By transforming vacant McMansions into Living Machines, or "micro-ecosystem[s] of plants, algae, bacteria, [where] fish and clams are present to purify the water," and transforming highways into multi-use transportation conduits, Chiu envisions a green future via suburban wetlands.

All of the winners are featured here, and include Entrepreneurbia: Rezoning Suburbia for Self-Sustaining Life in second place, Big Box Agriculture: A Productive Suburb in third place, and the Urban Sprawl Repair Kit: Repairing the Urban Fabric taking the People's Choice Award.
