If your family has picked up one of the Shrek glasses that are being offered at McDonalds lately, well then you're not alone. Millions have been sold, but after an anonymous phone tip last week, they've been retested and have come back positive for Cadmium and should no longer be used. Refund and health information this way.

Cadmium is a carcinogen and can cause kidney, lung, intestinal and bone damage. McDonald's has agreed to voluntarily recall the glasses after the test results came back positive for this extra-nasty substance. They've asked that you stop using these glasses immediately and return them to your closest McDonalds for a full $2 refund (plus you might be able to score a free ice cream cone for your pain and suffering).

We know that this might not apply to many of you, but we're willing to bet that even if you don't own one, you know someone who might, so spread the word and help keep our kids safe. Cadmium, although prohibited has had a way of sneaking into many children's products over the last year. If you feel as strongly about the issue as we do, make sure to drop your local representative a note about putting forth more strict legislation against it!
