This clever idea comes from Paula and Brian's Cambridge Condo Rehab House Tour. As a smart solution for their tiny bedroom, it appears that they removed the doors from an existing built-in to stash their small dresser.
This way Paula and Brian still have the benefit of drawer space without overcrowding their small room. We also love how tidy it looks tucked in this spot, and the dash of wood tone in an otherwise highly saturated space helps ground the potent yellow.
Thanks Paula and Brian!

it's like the idea of hanging an old CRT television out of your window (like a window unit AC) and you've just bought yourself some space!
that's a great idea... now my little wheels are turning... thanks for sharing as always!

I can't really figure out what that space used to be, but if in fact they shortened doors to make room for that dresser I think they made a bad choice. The dresser should have been hidden behind the nice doors. Or they should (get someone to) make a real built-in dresser instead.
I don't understand this at all. There were drawers already, which must have looked integrated, at least, into the wall cupboard, and they replaced them with something that doesn't "go"?
Were the previous drawers damaged in some way?
These kind of cupboards are very common in the Boston area.
It's hideous. Why not just build real drawers? Or at least paint the thing all the same color--the "dash of wood tone" is completely jarring.
Low taste level.
I would think the bottom of that cabinet used to be drawers - so why waste the drawers that were already there?
