If you're someone who likes organization to be full of life, have that cozy feel, and even better — be at an arm's reach — then hanging cups from your cupboards might just be the touch your kitchen needs.
Mugs and cups are the perfect items to store out in the open, as they are usually used on a frequent basis and won't need dusting as other decorative or serving pieces might. Displaying mugs is also a great way to spice up decor and add some eclecticism to a space, because each one in your collection might be unique from the cup before. And if your mug collection is all the same, displaying them all in a row might be a nice way to add visual order to your kitchen's aesthetic.
To get started, purchase some cup hooks from a hardware store, measure the spacing between where your hooks will hang, and then drill holes small enough to securely screw in the cup hooks. If you want a more interesting look, use decorative hooks found at antique shops or even retail stores. These decorative hooks can even be hung on the wall in a vertical orientation for a different, more unexpected look.

Nomade Express Slee...
I was just reflecting on how to add some color to my kitchen, and though I'm not sure that it will be via a cup collection, the bright cheery kitchen pics were quite timely. Thanks!

Cute but can easiler look very cluttered.
I like these!
Last night, I was in my pantry and I bent down to pick up something on the floor. I discovered that under the bottom shelf there was a LONG line of cup hooks someone must have put there years ago for a cup collection! I've lived here 10 years and never noticed them.
We have a snow day today in Boston so of course I'm going to devote an hour to re-arranging that shelf so I can hang up my cups! I don't have nearly so many as there are hooks, so clutter shouldn't be a problem.
Great for a retro look.
Like most of these, but the last one just looks like a disaster area.
I have the same exact mugs in picture three hanging in my kitchen
