A while ago we wrote about the slippery slope towards collecting pet related decor. Well, we've been resisting the slide but a curious transfer seems to be happening. We seem to be more and more attracted to other animal sculptures in our home...
Which explains our longstanding fascination with these carved pig bookends that we spotted online at Pieces, an Atlanta based store that aims to bridge the divide between high-end antiques and mass-produced home decor. We like the generous proportions (8H x 8W x 5D for left pig, 9.5H x 7W x 5D for the right pig), the beautiful striations in wood, and what feels to us like a modern spin on a typically countrified object.
These pigs, which are handcarved from repurposed pine timbers, don't come cheap. Each one is $68.00 but we think they'd make a special housewarming or wedding gift! To check them out on the Pieces website (which is worth peeking around), click here.

Love them as sculpture, but don't use decorative bookends -- I need the shelf space for actual books...
Very Cute...
Careful...it's a fine line...!
They look like they would feel lovely in hand. I want to pick one right out of the screen and just hold it.
Roost sells them for $98 for the pair. A little cheaper. Plus, they have a whole animal themed section of their online shop.
