Red and blue might be enemies across bipartisan lines, but they make beautiful music together when it comes to decor. Red and blue are a classic combination, and these vintage accessories complement each other perfectly. Just don't let the colors inspire politics at the dinner table.
These accessories are even sweeter because they're eco-friendly. As vintage pieces from the 1960s, 70s, or 80s, they have stood the test of time and are long-lasting, pre-owned, durable and heirloom worthy.

Love those sweet typewriters!
I did a red + blue roundup for the Superbowl, as those are both the Giants and Pats team colors.

What's the story with vintage Russian alarm clocks, anyway? Was there a big Russian alarm clock industry back in the day? I really like the ones I've seen here and on Etsy, and I'm curious about the history.
Anyway, more on topic, I just decided last night that my new home office color scheme will involve some dusty/calm blue tones with red accents, so I love that this popped up on AT today!
I wanted an alarm clock that ran on electricity rather than batteries in a pale blue color. To my surprise I found exactly what I was looking for on ETSY.
I knew the item was USED but I purchased it anyway. The clock was made in America by Westclock. The face of the clock has very soft glow so you can see the time without having to turn on the lights.
To my disappointment, after a month, the clock started ‘humming’ to the point that I had to unplug it to be able to sleep. It seems that after the clock ‘heats’ up, it starts to hum.
I contacted the seller and she reimbursed me $6.00 of the original $12.00 I paid because she said I didn’t get what was promised. I decided to keep the clock in hopes of trying to either fix it or get it fix.
Moral: Careful when buying electrical items that have been used; especially if over 20-30 years old
Lyonstill- LLBean has a "Moonbeam" clock that sounds like just what you are looking for. I have one and love it!
Having lived in a graduate school dorm right after the national Bicentennial, I NEVER want to see red-white-and-blue decor ever again! (You have no idea!!!) ;^)
@ Lyonstill. It is possible that the humming is not a defect of the clock but your electricity. I have had this happen to two store bought Best Buy clocks. After a while they made an annoying hum. I live in an old house and my father mentioned that electricity in my place isn't "conditioned" (whatever that means). For most items it's not a problem but for older or cheaper electronics they might hum. So maybe your next place will be better for your clock. :)
