Red Hots: Storage with Attitude

One of my favorite purchases for my new home was a large red IKEA bookshelf (currently available in a narrower size, as seen in image #3 above). It's simple, affordable, good looking, and holds a ton of books and knickknacks. I have to say, though, the best part about it is the lipstick-red hue: it's such an unexpected color in my otherwise ho-hum home office.

With that in mind, here are some bright red storage options for your home, from the slick Componibili modules, which I'm coveting, to a simple CB2 credenza perfect for a TV room or entryway, along with two real-life shots for inspiration.

1. An IKEA bookshelf in a Connecticut home, from Elle Decor's LookBook.
2. A very cool 5-bin storage tower with pivoting drawers from The Container Store.
3. LACK wall shelf unit from IKEA.
4. An Eames 2x2 storage unit from Design Within Reach.
5. Fuel Red Credenza from CB2.
6. Componibili Storage Module by Kartell (designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri), available at Smart Furniture.
7. Stow Red 17.5" Leather Storage Ottoman from Crate&Barrel.
8. Badger Basket Three-Bin Storage Cubby from Sears.
9. LINNARP bookcase from IKEA.
10. A bold red look from a Sneak Peak of Max Wanger's home on Design*Sponge.
