In each of these rooms, the bright red walls are balanced by white accents.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I am! I painted my living room a bright red-orange color. Here are a few photos: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/faiths-tomato-i-98164
NOT A FAN OF THE ROSE PATTERN WALL PAPER BUT IT WORKS. IT'S A VERY HIP HOME.
I love love love those last two. Alas between my roomate and my landlord, never gonna happen. :(
Red is my favorite color for a room and has been since I was a teenager. It looks so dramatic, warm, and interesting.
First two look like bordellos.
Someone once told me that red is a panic color. That people react to it by feeling alarmed and extremely alert. I have to say that these rooms make me feel quite claustrophobic for that reason. I would never do a room all in red!
I'm all for using bold colours, and personally love red, but context is key.
I once knew a woman who painted her bedroom bright red. She and her husband had the nastiest divorce I've ever witnessed in my life... How can someone fall asleep in a bright red room? They were probably on-edge and crabby from the moment the paint dried.
The red wallpaper at the head of the bed is fine -- first off, the red is mitigated with pink, and secondly, you don't see it (much) when lying in bed.
Also, I knew people who painted their powder room oxblood red. It always struck me as a very unfortunate and inappropriate colour for a toilet; every time I went in there I couldn't stop thinking about colon cancer and menstruation.
Red is so tricky and without a little brown to toughen up it tends to go completely Chicken Ranch in my opinion. I love the how most of the rooms avoided looking like brothels with strong and/or interesting furnishings.
I had a "tomato soup" color red dining room for years. I really loved it for a long time but recently painted the room white. Red was great but I needed a change.
I have to confess, I don't like red in this big of a context. I love red in small details, little shots of color. But red walls and big pieces of red furniture make me nervous. I just don't find it soothing or attractive at all.
