Refresh your furniture with these great tips from ScotchBlue™
- ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tape Advanced Delicate Surface with Edge-Lock
- Paints or stains
- Paint brushes
- Tape measure
- Sand paper
- Drop cloth
- Updated knobs
- Drawer liners
Determine your pattern and select your colors. For best results, you may wish to sketch it out on paper first. Sand the dresser to remove all former paint or stain. Wipe it down to remove all dust particles, and then add one or two coats of primer. Let it dry for 24 hours.
Step 1: Paint the entire dresser the lightest color. Let it dry for 24 hours. Using a tape measure and ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tape Advanced Delicate Surface, measure out and tape your color block pattern.
Step 2: Paint your next shade and let that dry for at least 24 hours. Measure and tape your next color block pattern, paint your next shade, and allow that to dry for at least 24 hours. Repeat this step as often as necessary until your patter is complete and your dresser is finished.
Step 3: For an added level of protection, paint the entire finished dresser with a coat of polyurethane. Add your drawer knobs and let the dresser sit for 24 hours, to ensure that it is completely dry, before you use it.
