In the kitchen of my dreams, the tone is set by warm, natural materials that don't have a lot of glitz to them: Lots of honed natural stone, matte tile, timeworn wood. Add to this neutral backdrop gleams of polished nickel here and there (a hint warmer than chrome or stainless steel), and we're really cooking:
1) Circa Lighting's Large Country Industrial Pendant
2) Heath Ceramics Tapestry made-to-order tile in Dandelion Seed colorway
3) Lefroy Brooks Connaught lever kitchen bridge mixer, wall mounted, satin nickel finish
4) SieMatic StoneDesign countertop
5) Viking 48" range
6) Neiman Marcus' "Industrial" Stools
7) Kalley Flooring's Doug Fir End Grain Wood Flooring

Ercol Bar Stool
That's a nice dream. In the kitchen of my reality, I find I can do very nicely with much less.
I love the tiles and the end-grain flooring. The kitchen sink, though is not for the real cook. Practicality dictates a single handle...or even a foot pedal. Who wants to use two hands to fuss with the water temp and pressure?
Beautiful choices. I agree about the faucets, though. They should have, at most, a single handle to be useful if you actually want to cook in your dream kitchen.
The end grain flooring is fantastic and I want it, too.
I disagree on the faucets. I prefer two handles because I like to regulate temperature that way. If I have one hand to turn on one facuet, it's not a big deal to use the same hand to turn on the other. I prefer not to have to adjust one faucet somewhere along a vague line just to determine hot and cold. Two handles let me adjust much more accurately.
