Yesterday's extremely windy Sunday afternoon gave me the opportunity to check out a wonderful event in McCarren Park - the Renegade Craft Fair. Among the homespun poster, t-shirt, and jewelry vendors was an exciting company called Up In The Air Somewhere, which specializes in papier-mâché and ceramic vessels.
The gold-leafed paper bowls are very thin and delicate, but can withstand gentle use. It is recommended to observe them in low light, as the contrast between the gold interior and white exterior is at its most exciting then. The ceramics are equally as graceful, with simple two-toned color schemes and sculptural shapes about them.
Check out Up In The Air Somewhere to get a hold of these beauties yourself.
