During the month of May 2012, the editorial team dove head first into what was then a fairly new channel for us - Renovation. Moving into this area in a bigger way has been very interesting and there is lots more to come on the subject in 2013. But for now, here is a look back at some of our most popular reno content from that month, including Dabney's amazing look into her renovation of the "World's Ugliest Condo"...

White Enamel Four-P...
I'm sorta confused as to why *Apartment* Therapy keeps including more and more content that's not really applicable to most renters. There are already a slew of websites dealing with renovation - something homeowners are far more likely to engage in than renters...
Was it ever really just about rentals? It may be a regional difference linguistic thing. When I've lived outside of NYC, when I say "apartment", people think that means a rental only. (They say condo when they mean an owned place, even in a cities that do have some coops.) In NYC, though, everybody says "apartment" - it covers your rental, your cooperative (most owned apartments in NYC) and your condo. In NYC, you generally don't say "my condo" or "my coop" (unless you are complaining about your coop board) - you just say "my apartment."
They also show designs in houses here, and I'm fine with that, though I've never lived in a house as an adult. I can get ideas from looking at a small kitchen or bedroom in a house that are applicable to those rooms in an apartment. So, if you rent, you aren't interested in renovating, skip those. Like those without kids probably often skip the kids rooms posts. Etc., etc...read what you are interested in, skip what you aren't into.
