Renter-Friendly Ideas for Covering/Refinishing Sink Legs?

Good Questions

Q: My dream has come true. I have finally made the big move from NYC to Montreal. I found an amazing flat full of traditional Montreal charm that is a huge departure from the modern Manhattan interiors where I once lived. The big issue: I am not a fan of my bathroom at all. I particularly have nightmares about the state of my bathroom sink.

I am going to be a PhD student on an extremely limited budget, so I am really looking to find a DIY, non-permanent (I am a renter) way to spruce up the sink. I don't mind the sink itself, and I find the exposed pipes to be a bit charming/industrial, but I really don't like the plastic covers to the odd legs. The metal on the legs is rusted, so something needs to cover the legs. Please help!
