Renters Fight Back

We just finished an article in the Bay Guardian discussing CitiApartments, one of the biggest rental companies in San Francisco, and their treatment of tenants in rent-controlled housing. We were surprised to read some of the allegations against the company...

According to some tenants, the company used intimidation and building negligence to try and force out rent-stabilized residents of newly acquired buildings. CitiApartments promised to look into the allegations and included that the company tries to help "financially troubled" tenants. Though we've seen signs all over the city for their rentals and even checked some out the last time we were apartment hunting, we've never lived in a CitiApartments-run building and have no experience with them. Does anyone out ther have any stories to share?
