Q: I received this coffee table from my cousin many years ago, and I love it because it's a great size, and it is both a great height lowered and lifts up to a perfect height with our couch. The problem though is since we've moved into a significantly smaller apartment (and we cannot afford a new couch) the table looks especially bulky.
I also hate the color of the wood with our existing furniture, so I have an eye to repaint it, but am not sure what color or mix of colors. Our place is colorful (I will be painting the living room walls a yellow similar to the pillow and the dining area is chalk, blue, and grapefruit), but I am having a hard time choosing a color that will look good with our existing stuff and bright dining room. My fiancé also has a strange hatred towards white coffee tables, and I also want to avoid re-staining because of the labor involved. So my question is: how should I repaint the table, or should I just give up and find a replacement?
