Saving corks from your wine bottles makes a lot of sense. There are so many ways to put them to use. This simple idea is just another one to add to that long list! This is one of the easiest how-to tutorials you'll see all year and it could be just what the doctor ordered for that ho-hum piece of furniture sitting in the corner.
Dollar Store Crafts shows you how to replace old lack-luster drawer pulls with something a bit funkier. The idea is simple: unscrew the original and twist the cork onto a screw threaded through the hole in the drawer front.
You could even try dyeing the corks or buffing them with paint before attaching them, or possibly gluing three side by side and making a larger pull instead of a knob. The method of attachment would be the same, it would just be a little larger.

Ercol Bar Stool
Cute idea but I'm fixated on those nasty fingernails. Yuck!!
the fingernails look fine to me... sometimes if you have dark skin, you can have darker fingernails or you work in a garden!
in any case, great idea for reuse.
Saw this idea and since I don't have any pulls on my kitchen cabinets, I intend to make these because I have hundreds of corks. I will cut the top off the champagne cork and use it on the cabinet doors, and use a regular wine cork horizontally on my drawers. I think a couple of coats of non toxic sealer will make them look nice and last longer. Thanks for the idea!
Those are really cute! I may have to reconsider the pulls on my liquor cabinet now!
This is a great idea! I was wondering what to do with all the champagne corks we're accumulating. (I made a resolution to drink more sparkling wine. I like a resolution that I can stick to!)
And this will be a good way to personalize our rental kitchen a tiny bit: we can replace the old handles when we move someday.
HEIDI THE ARCHITECT: The fingernail comment..REALLY!?? Jeeze--
Very cute idea.
Your nails are fine.
Some folks are just snobs or plain ole meanies.
I must add this to my wine cork list: http://www.decorellaknox.com/2012/07/wine-corks-repurposed.html
Thanks as always for inspiring!
