Repurposed Objects Inspired by Makea

In response to our throwaway consumer culture, a collective called Makea sprouted in Spain in 2006. Makea's aim is to inform and inspire people to repurpose cast-offs instead of buying new stuff with short lifespans...

The objects pictured are from Makea's DIY sister site called El Recetario which profiles specific projects to inspire you to think about creating fun, useful objects from things that are headed to the landfill. We're particularly enamored with the floor chair and the pivot lamp pot.

For more information about Makea, check out the Treehugger post where we first learned about Makea. And if you speak Spanish, you can head directly to the Makea and El Recetario websites.
