Turn a Repurposed Rake Head Into a Coat Hook!

What's that you say? 14 for the price of one? Well, 14 hooks that is. All nicely aligned, no level involved and only one screw! Out of the garden and into my front hall. I'm in coat-hook-heaven.

A vintage rake head is a fabulous alternative to traditional coat trees or wall mounted hooks. Full of character and convenience, I'm smitten with this new take on the rake.

If you don't happen to have a charming old rake head available don't worry, they are easy to find online on sites like Ebay or Etsy. Just be sure the metal is formed in such a way that a screw can fit snugly in place when mounting it to your wall. If your walls are a tad on the weak side, consider using a wall plug first. This will ensure the screw adequately supports the weight of whatever you have hanging.

Aside from a great place for jackets and scarfs it is also a useful organizer for jewelry or the perfect addition to a craft station for hanging ribbons, strings or chains.

And any concerns about rust transfer can be thwarted by sealing the metal beforehand - check your local hardware store for environmentally friendly sealants and you're ready to go!
