Q: A Murano glass mirror my wife and I picked up in Venice has undergone a series of trials and tribulations, and unfortunately the mirror itself has a large crack running down the middle. The Murano glass "frame" that borders the mirror is what we want to salvage, but in order to fix a previous problem I pretty much permanently affixed it to the mirror using epoxy. Do I just glue another mirror onto the cracked one? Or is something more inventive called for?

Editor: Oh Matt, your poor mirror! We definitely think it is time to consult a professional on this one. If your mirror had a wooden frame, you would have lots of DIY possibiliites, but a glass frame certainly complicates matters. Add in the epoxy, and we're afraid further efforts might make the situation even worse.
