I'm kicking myself for not purchasing these stools when I bought my recent counter height dining table. Every great interior design resource is filled to the brim with these stools right now. The best part? They're cheap!
I can't get over the two for $79.99 price on these stools. They come in red, black, and silver too! I imagine they would be fairly easy to paint if you wanted a custom color. They look so beautiful and have a really adaptable appeal. These stools seem to look great not only in a modern home, but also in a shabby chic kitchen too!

Curious to ask what stools you bought instead for the table you mentioned? I wouldn't worry about not having bought the most "in" stools... fads come and go, so pick what you like.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of these square stools and I have seen some much nice ones. Although I do agree that the price is decent.
Totally have these. Have 4 of them! We use them with our kitchen island that we just extended. Don't have the "after" pics yet, but here are the before:

Yes, trendy. Yes, everywhere. Yes, we get compliments on them all the time!
Let's give credit to Xavier Pauchard for his often reinterpreted design! Wonderful chairs!
You can still find "real" [expensive] reproductions at DWR.
Really? You can't get over $40 for a stool? I don't know how much money bloggers make, but just fyi that is not "cheap."
I bought these in black from overstock about two years ago and I still love them. And $40 dollars per stool I'd say is pretty darn cheap.
We got them too. I scored 4 at a yard sale and matched the other 4 online:

Nice looking, but on a chilly morning the metal will suck the warmth right out of you.
I enjoy the look of these but agree, the two strikes against them are that they're trendy and metal.
I LOVE the wood Ikea Malta stools; same price but with a wider seat, and a unique design.
I'm afraid they discontinued them for next year but there's usually someone selling some on eBay. Their red, with its bright orange tint, looks amazing in my guest cottage.
$40 is AMAZING!
These are reproductions of the classic Tolix stool, made in Bourgundy, France. A small Tolix comes at around $180; a bar-stool-size one is around $250.
@ProjectRowhouse: It's not exactly "reinterpretation" if you merely copy an original design, though.
@Alexander S.: I'd consider the fact that DWR is now selling these in a mesh metal, in a variety of colors would certainly be considered "reinterpretation"
Yup. These are exactly what I'm searching for to add to my kitchen.
