Project by: Liza Riguerra of Riguerra Design
Location: San Francisco, California
Do you love the look of a modern home that exudes a lot of warmth and comfort? The sort of casual feel that also looks sleek? You might find some inspiration from this professionally designed San Francisco home full of comfortable furniture.
From the designer: Designer Liza Riguerra was approached to bring a cool, urban, easy vibe to her client’s apartment “without breaking the bank”. He tapped her to update the main public spaces with a seamless look that could easily transition from casual entertaining to comfortable living.
To achieve this, Liza mixed some of her client’s own pieces with vintage finds and stylish furnishings from West Elm and CB2. She anchored the room with two statement Moroccan rugs and played up the wall-to-ceiling picture frame windows with dramatic drapes. As a result, her biggest challenge — the expansive window wall — became the showpiece.
A neutral color scheme of creams, beiges and browns is punctuated with pops of orange and subtle pattern. Streamlined furniture with clean, crisp lines and tailored legs, completes the relaxed but modern look and creates three distinct areas: living, dining and work.
