I've been using them on my desk to hold pens where they look more interesting then just putting them in a jar. I've also been using them as paperweights whether to hold a stack of papers I need to go through, the pages of a cookbook open or to keep loose papers from flying away when my old creaky window flies open (which it often does).

Sprout Side Table
Mine are on my dresser housing make-up brushes, tweezers, etc.
I've only seen green plastic ones! Now i need glass ones for eyeliner, tweezers, etc!
There's a whole segment on this on the PBS show For Your Home (I don't have cable, so I have watched this parade of horribles more than I care to admit). I have to say, though, none of the ideas there looked particularly useful to me. Pen/marker holder? Only if I like my markers to be wobbly and I don't mind knocking over 5 of them each time I reach for a color in the middle in a hurry. The glass frogs are pretty, though, so paperweight seems like a decent idea.
With chopsticks they could be a good bag dryer. :)
Do you know why are they called flower frogs?
Ewe, holes scare me.
