I love Christmas. It is my very favorite time of the year. I'm also a little bit of a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas decor. None of those pink or orange or lime green Christmas trees, thankyouverymuch. So I confess I'm a teeny bit surprised that I'm so drawn to these retro white Christmas trees.
I love how a white tree makes colored ornaments really pop, and how they somehow seem retro-chic and modern all at the same time. Plus, this is probably the only way a white christmas is coming to my home in semi-tropical Houston.

I love a white tree! I have a fat seven footer that I found in a drug store for only $9.99!!!
When I went fake, I just figured I'd go all the way fake. And I really do think ornaments look so good on it.
Last year I moved in December and didn't do any Christmas decorating -- these pictures make me excited to see my white tree again after all this time!
I bought my white tree a few years ago because an allergy to real trees was making my holiday season pure misery.
At this point, I would never go back to a green tree! (real or artificial) My white tree is so awesome, it just glows all the time. Ornaments look so much better on it too! Love some of the color ideas here!
Great Ideas!
Especially georgous the pictures from the Hostess blog. BTW does anyone know Wehre to find their fake fireplace?????
Love the rainbow one!!
The photo of tree #4 is ours and was just put up in all it's retro splendor this week. I jumped the gun, sorry Thanksgiving.

Thanks for sharing!
Very pretty trees, but cant it wait until after Thanksgiving, pls? Between all the obnoxious ads everywhere trying to money-grab and all of the frenzy of Black Friday, Thanksgiving gets lost and really is spoiled. Tks
I love a white tree! I wanted to purchase one this year but DH is a diehard 'real tree' lover...somday maybe! These are gorgeous!
Love my white tree! Can't wait to pull it out and decorate!
@rachel: thanks! I've updated the photo credit.
@Edin: I meant no disrespect to Thanksgiving. The thinking was, since many people put up their trees right after Thanksgiving, now would be an appropriate time for an inspiration post.
I had a white tree now for 2 years and I absolutely ADORE it. I love how the colors of the ornaments and decorations just pop.
@mitchheaven, it was an appropriate time for this point. Thanksgiving is the official start of the holiday season in my book and this was wonderful inspiration. Thanks! (:
@racheloncegentry, nice one! Maybe my favorite!
These are all beautiful in their settings, but most of the rooms are already predominantly white, so they fit in really well. Maybe a green tree in these spaces would seem too massive and dark-looking.
I like the illusion of traditional with my fake green tree, but these examples could sway my opinion if I ever need to replace the one I have! Really pretty!
i dont know, nothing smells as good as a real tree!
i'm with eliz; if you go fake, then make it fabulously fake... i can't get behind a fake tree trying to look real, especially when there are so many amazing alternatives out there. i went with charcoal, which sets off my acid toned decorations nicely. however, having now moved to a bigger flat, i was looking to change things up a bit and these photos are wonderful inspiration!
i got my white tree on sale last year at Sears on December 29th and immediately put it up because i also celebrate xmas on January 7th.
unlike the rooms shown above, my living room is painted orange and the tree just glows against the walls. i loaded it up with turquoise, hot pink, lime green and purple decorations. this year i got a feathered peacock from ChristmasCentral.com to use as a topper.
after seeing all those, i'm impatient to get my tree up... but i'll be good and wait for December!
Thank you so much for featuring my ' rainbow" tree. I call it my Chromatic Christmas tree!
it was featured on Etsy Several years back!
Have a Merry Christmas All!

This post got me absolutely obsessed about finding a fake white tree this year. But I didn't want to spend more than $100 and that proved to be much harder than I expected.
Then we were at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago for breakfast yesterday and they had a GORGEOUS white tree from Frontgate. It made me want one even more. But we all know the best time to buy a fake tree is on December 26th. So... I started to give up on my quest. UNTIL this morning.
I don't normally shop Walmart, but I found a fake white 6.5' tree for $39.99! I ordered it. Shipping was $3.60. And the tree will be here on Friday. Fingers crossed it does the trick!
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!

I have been finding myself more and more drawn to white trees...I love the decorating ideas. But somehow, I get cold feet about bringing one home. Maybe next year I can start small, like one for the wee girls bedroom. Yep...that is what I will do! Thanks for the inspiration!
