We have a set of dining chairs we've been meaning to reupholster for a while now. It's not a difficult project; we've just been mulling over the fabric and trying to find the time to do it. For motivation, we decided to round up a few inspiring examples of simple chairs and stools that have been transformed with new fabric.

lovely chairs.
I love how the fabric echoes the pattern of the mugs in #1.
These are nice! lately I have seen too many oversized scaled pattern used on a small chair and it just looks the fabric is consuming the chair.
I was searching for some drapery fabric and I found
the silk trading company had some nice fabrics for upholstery that were reduced, I always thought of them as being expensive. I was looking for a stripe and I found this one for 15.00 per yrd linen/cotton

We purchased some great shaped but not so great colored chairs on craigslist... waiting to see how the entire dining room is going to shape up (looking for a pendant chandelier or now) before we choose the fabric - thank you for reminding me about this exciting project!
i'm obsessed with re-upholstering footstools. it's so fun, so easy, they make great gifts, and you can find them for $10 at any thrift store! i posted a whole DIY tutorial on the latest one...
